The parcel delivery company Seur, in collaboration with DPDgroup, launched a program to measure the level of PM2.5 particles in the air of Madrid. The project has already been developed in Lisbon and Paris and is expected to expand to a total of 20 European cities in the coming months.
Sensors installed in Seur's delivery vehicles, in the convenience stores of its Pickup network and in urban centers, will measure air quality. The company will share the data obtained with its customers and recipients in Madrid, who will be able to view the collected information on high-resolution maps.
Thanks to Pollutrack laser technology, the sensors are able to measure in real time, street by street, the quantity of fine respirable PM2.5 particles, considered to be the most harmful. This technology provides an air pollution assessment and measurement tool that makes it possible to report the level of pollution caused by these particles at street level, as well as to raise awareness about preventing their impact on health citizens.
