“There is three times more pollution in the metro than outside”
You risk no longer taking the metro after watching the show “Vert de Rage” which will be broadcast on France 5 this Monday, October 2, 2023. This program explored the air quality in the Paris metro, and the conclusions are alarming to say the least: “There is two to three times more pollution inside the metro than outside in the city », declared Martin Boudot, the journalist who initiated the investigation. An assertion supported by irrefutable figures and rigorous investigation methods. Sensors have been deployed in 332 stations of the Paris metro (out of 435) to measure the quantity of harmful particles. Thousands of data points were collected over an eight-month period during peak hours (6-8 p.m.).
