Is your street more polluted than the one next door? We will soon be able to answer this question in Paris. This Wednesday, Paris town hall details its new pollution control and assessment tools. In collaboration with Airparif, Enedis, the Fondation du Souffle and PlanetWatch24, the City wishes to be able to establish a map of air quality.
The device, called “Pollutrack” will work using laser sensors embedded on 300 Enedis electric cars. While circulating, these vehicles, the experiment of which was launched a few months ago, will make it possible to measure the level of fine PM 2.5 particles.
Known measurements in real time
The measurements taken by the sensors are made directly at the height of pedestrians, cyclists and joggers. The “Pollutrack” system will eventually make it possible to know the level of pollution in real time.
