A pioneering program measures harmful particles in the air in Madrid

90% of the urban population of the European Union (EU) is exposed to high levels of concentrations of atmospheric pollutants considered harmful to health, according to the European Environment Agency. For this reason, SEUR, in collaboration with Pollutrack, in its commitment to reduce the carbon footprint and to raise awareness in society, has launched a pioneering program in Madrid to measure air quality. Some 100 vans and 20 fixed points have these sensors that measure PM2.5 particles in the air, which are the most harmful to the health of citizens. This advanced measurement program is part of its Driving Change corporate social responsibility commitment. One of the pillars of this initiative is carbon neutral, that is, offering all its customers carbon-neutral shipments. In Spain, road transport contributes to 20% of the emission of these small and harmful particles. That is why it is essential that logistics operators take measures to reduce their impact.
